SINGAPORE -The global shortage of tech talent, which is also reflected in Singapore's labour pool, has driven wages up in the infocomm and technology (ICT) sector and created hiring challenges for firms here.

Wages in the sector have risen in recent years. A recent report by tech talent platform NodeFlair and venture capital firm Quest Ventures said software engineers here had an average pay increase of 22 per cent year-on-year in 2021.

The median monthly income of junior software engineers is about $4,750, while lead software engineers earn a median salary of about $9,000 a month.
